Attorneys D. Jay Ritt, Tiffany W. Tai, Joel A. Thvedt, Michael J. Armenta, and Warren O. Hodges constitute the core of the firm’s IP team, which has significant experience in the litigation of trademark, copyright and design patent infringement, as well as in trade secret and unfair competition matters. The attorneys have litigated extensively in both state and federal court and have amassed a great deal of experience in both seeking and opposing pre-judgment remedies, including injunctions and seizures of confidential, trade secret and/or other proprietary matters, as well as litigating these matters through conclusion.

Tiffany Tai led the firm’s efforts in federal district courts throughout the country, enforcing the copyright and trademark rights of clients including the nation’s largest Asian-American satellite television broadcaster, which owns a large library of copyrighted and proprietary Chinese language movies and programs. The firm has an unbroken record in obtaining injunctions and/or seizure orders for IP clients when their proprietary materials have been infringed by others. Whenever appropriate, Bensinger, Ritt, Tai & Thvedt has also worked closely with state and federal authorities to vindicate the clients’ proprietary rights against willful infringers.

The firm also represents individuals and entities accused of infringing others’ intellectual property rights. Our attorneys have successfully resolved disputes for businesses litigating against some of the country’s largest companies. We pride ourselves on our ability to efficiently defend our clients—often smaller businesses or individuals—from the overly aggressive tactics of their accusers.
