PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
As a partner in the firm, Ms. Tai represents
clients in general civil and business litigation, with emphasis
in intellectual property and unfair competition.
EXPERIENCE
Tiffany W. Tai is a 1997 graduate of the University of Southern
California Law School, and also holds a master of arts degree
from the USC Annenberg School for Communications. Prior to
joining the firm, Ms. Tai was a judicial extern to the Honorable
Dorothy W. Nelson, of the United States Court of Appeals for
the Ninth Circuit, where she conducted independent legal research
and prepared bench memoranda for Judge Nelson evaluating the
merits of causes pending before the Court.
Ms. Tais research area for Judge Nelson included, among
others, issues relating to intellectual property rights. Ms.
Tai has had extensive involvement in the firms intellectual
property cases, including the defense and/or representation
of clients in opposition to Microsoft Corporation, Sebastian
International and the Irvine Company, in actions involving
issues of trademark/trade dress infringement in violation
of the Lanham Act, copyright infringement and other IP concerns.
In addition to her legal experience, Ms. Tai also brings
her dynamic background in mass communication and entertainment
to the firm. Prior to embarking upon her legal career, Ms.
Tai interned at various newsrooms in both broadcast and print
settings. From 1993 to 1994 Ms. Tai worked under the Director
of Feature Administration at Walt Disney Studios in facilitating
the sale of theatrical releases to television networks and
commercial airlines.
Ms. Tai is fluent in Mandarin, and translates for, as well
as represents, the firms Chinese-speaking clients. Ms
Tai currently is a member of the
Taiwanese American Lawyers Association and serves on the Board
of Directors of the Los Angeles County Neighborhood Legal
Services.
